More than 680 licensed student athletes across Monaco's schools were recognised at the annual UNSS prize-giving, with three lycées qualifying for the French national football championships.
The annual UNSS prize-giving ceremony has marked the close of a strong 2025-26 school sports season in the Principality, with 682 licensed participants registered across Monaco's educational establishments - representing more than 23 per cent of all enrolled pupils.
Three schools qualified for the UNSS French national football championships this season: Lycée Albert Ier, Institution François d'Assise - Nicolas Barré, and Collège Charles III. Collège Charles III stood out further by claiming a medal finish, underlining the depth of competitive sport developing within the state school network.
The UNSS district of Monaco continues to punch well above its weight given the Principality's size, with participation rates that would rival much larger French académie districts. For families with children in Monaco's schools, the figures reinforce the range of structured sporting pathways available alongside the academic curriculum.
