By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

The Jumping International de Monte-Carlo opens on Thursday 2 July, with Monégasque showjumper Íñigo López de la Osa Franco among the headline contenders across the three-day event.

The Jumping International de Monte-Carlo returns to the Principality from 2 to 4 July 2026, and one name is drawing particular attention from the home crowd: Íñigo López de la Osa Franco, the young Monégasque showjumper who has been making steady progress through the senior ranks. Competing on home soil gives the event a different weight for him, and he has spoken openly about the privilege of representing Monaco in front of a crowd that knows him.

The competition, held at the Port Hercule arena, brings together some of Europe's top showjumping talent across three days of increasingly demanding courses. For López de la Osa Franco, the setting is also deeply personal. He has spoken of specific memories tied to the Rocher and to the Monaco crowd, adding an emotional dimension to what is already one of the most technically demanding fixtures on the calendar.

For residents planning to attend, the event runs through Sunday 4 July. The Port Hercule site is accessible on foot from most central Monaco districts, and tickets can be purchased through the official Jumping International de Monte-Carlo channels.
