Monaco reaffirms Holocaust remembrance at IHRA plenary

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

A Monaco delegation joined the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's November plenary in Buenos Aires to renew commitments against historical distortion.

Buenos Aires hosted the second 2026 plenary session of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance from 1 to 5 November, drawing delegations from across the world, including representatives from Monaco.

The Principality used the gathering to restate its commitment to preserving the historical record of the Holocaust and to pushing back against attempts to distort or deny it. The IHRA brings together governments and institutions to coordinate education, remembrance and research policy, and Monaco's continued participation reflects its standing among the alliance's member states.

For residents, the Principality's involvement in such forums is a reminder of its broader diplomatic engagement beyond its borders, work that rarely makes headlines locally but forms part of how Monaco positions itself internationally on questions of memory and human rights.
