Monaco Open-Air Cinema Sells Out as Peak Season Arrives

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

The Principality's open-air cinema is reporting higher attendance this summer, with sold-out screenings and two major blockbusters driving demand through July.

Running since Friday 19 June, Monaco's open-air cinema is having its strongest start in recent memory, with organisers confirming that all tickets for several screenings have already sold out. The surge in interest coincides with the height of summer, when the Principality's resident and visitor population reaches its annual peak.

Christopher Nolan's latest film, L'Odyssée, which opened on 15 July, has been among the main draws, and anticipation is already building for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, due to screen from 29 July. With two of the summer's most talked-about releases anchoring the programme, the remaining weeks of the season look set to maintain the same pace.

For residents who have not yet booked, the sell-out pattern makes early reservation advisable. The open-air format remains one of the more distinctive summer evenings Monaco offers, and this year's attendance figures suggest that reputation is only growing.
