Monaco martial art Paijeda showcased at UNESCO Sports Day

Paijeda, a martial art created in Monaco in 2020, was demonstrated at UNESCO's annual Sports and Wellbeing Day, with founder Claude Pouget and four young practitioners representing the Principality.
A martial art born in Monaco has reached a global stage. Paijeda, developed in the Principality in 2020, was featured at UNESCO's annual Sports and Wellbeing Day, giving the discipline its most prominent international platform to date. Founder Claude Pouget, who also serves as president of the Monegasque federation for the sport, attended alongside four young practitioners who demonstrated the art to the public gathered at the event.
The appearance positions Paijeda as more than a local curiosity. Created only six years ago, its selection for a UNESCO showcase reflects the Principality's capacity to develop and export new sporting disciplines. Séverine Dusaintpère represented Monaco's delegation in an official capacity alongside the athletes.
