The Monaco Embassy in Germany held a reception combining Prince Albert II's 21st accession anniversary with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two states.
The Monaco Embassy in Berlin hosted a dual-occasion reception this week, bringing together nearly 300 guests to mark both the 21st anniversary of Prince Albert II's accession and 75 years of formal diplomatic relations between Monaco and Germany.
Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister-Counsellor for External Relations and Cooperation, attended as Monaco's senior representative. Among the guests were Christoph Israng, Director-General for Europe at the German Federal Foreign Office, and more than 70 ambassadors, reflecting the broad diplomatic weight the event carried.
The milestone is a notable one for the Principality's foreign relations. Seven decades of ties with one of Europe's largest economies underpin a range of practical agreements covering judicial cooperation, tax matters and residency arrangements that affect Monaco residents and property owners with German connections.
