Monaco joins US 250th independence celebrations

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

The Principality has signed a formal agreement with the bipartisan America250 Commission to take part in the United States' 250th anniversary commemorations.

A signing ceremony in Washington has confirmed Monaco's participation in the celebrations marking 250 years of American independence. The agreement was formalised between Monaco's Ambassador to the United States and Rosie Rios, President of the bipartisan America250 Commission, which is overseeing the national commemorations programme.

The evening brought together figures from diplomatic and political circles, reflecting the depth of the relationship between the Principality and the United States. For Monaco, whose ties with America span generations of cultural, commercial, and institutional exchange, the agreement represents a meaningful commitment at a moment of significant historical weight for both nations.

The America250 Commission, established by Congress, is coordinating events across the country and internationally ahead of the anniversary in 2026. Monaco's formal involvement places the Principality among the international partners contributing to what is expected to be one of the most widely observed commemorations in American history.
