The government has released a public health warning ahead of the first significant heat spell of summer 2026, with vulnerable residents advised to take precautions.
Authorities in Monaco have put out a formal public health alert as the Principality braces for its first sustained period of high temperatures this summer. The warning, issued on Saturday 23 May, calls on residents to stay vigilant as conditions are expected to intensify over the coming days.
Particular concern has been raised for vulnerable groups, including elderly residents, infants and young children, who face the greatest risk from prolonged heat exposure. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun during peak afternoon hours and check on neighbours who may be living alone.
Those with questions or concerns about heat-related health risks can contact their GP or the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace directly. Further guidance from the government is expected if temperatures continue to rise through the week.
