Monaco issues heat warning as summer temperatures rise
By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial
The Monaco Government is urging residents and visitors to take precautions during a period of intense heat, with particular concern for vulnerable groups.
The government has issued a public health alert asking everyone in the Principality to stay vigilant as prolonged high temperatures take hold. Infants, young children, pregnant women, older residents and people with chronic conditions are identified as most at risk, but the warning extends to anyone spending extended time outdoors, including athletes and outdoor workers.
Dehydration and heatstroke are the primary concerns, both of which can develop quickly and become serious without prompt attention. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat and check on neighbours or family members who may be more vulnerable.
The alert was published on Monday 29 June and reflects guidance aligned with broader regional heat-safety protocols in force across the French Riviera.
