Monaco has hosted two major Council of Europe delegations during its current presidency of the Committee of Ministers. Around 60 parliamentarians attended a Standing Committee meeting on 22 May, where Prince Albert II received the visiting delegates at the Prince's Palace. This gathering underscored the Principality's active role within the Council's institutional framework.
The diplomatic momentum continued when Monaco welcomed the Bureau of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities on 18 June for its 72nd meeting. This session brought together senior European officials focused on local and regional democracy, further demonstrating the breadth of Monaco's engagement across the Council of Europe's different institutional bodies during this presidency period.
These consecutive high-level meetings represent a notable concentration of senior European political figures and highlight the Principality's increasing prominence on the pan-European stage. The events underline Monaco's commitment to fostering dialogue on key European governance issues, from parliamentary representation to local democratic participation.
