Monaco Hosts Key Meeting with Andorran and San Marino Leaders on EU Relations

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

Minister of State Serge Telle met with counterparts from Andorra and San Marino to discuss ongoing European Union negotiations that began in 2015.

The Ministry of State recently played host to a significant diplomatic gathering as Monaco welcomed senior officials from Andorra and San Marino to discuss their collective approach to European Union negotiations.

Minister of State Serge Telle received Andorran Prime Minister Antoni Martí Petit and San Marino's Foreign Minister Nicola Renzi, along with their respective delegations, for strategic talks covering developments in EU relations since March 2015.

The working session allowed the three micro-states to coordinate their negotiating positions and review timelines for upcoming discussions with Brussels. All three nations have been pursuing closer ties with the European Union, seeking to balance their traditional independence with greater economic integration.

This trilateral cooperation reflects the shared challenges these small European states face in navigating complex EU relationships while maintaining their distinct national identities and economic models.
