Monaco Hosts International Training Programme for Financial Crime Evaluators
The principality welcomed 40 delegates from 21 countries for a five-day MONEYVAL training programme on combating money laundering and terrorism financing.
The principality has played host to an intensive training programme for international financial crime evaluators, welcoming delegates from across Europe and beyond. Over five days, around 40 specialists from 21 different countries participated in the MONEYVAL committee's sixth-cycle evaluation training.
The programme was designed to equip evaluators with the latest expertise in combating money laundering, terrorism financing, weapons proliferation funding, and corruption. Expert trainers and representatives from the MONEYVAL Secretariat led the comprehensive sessions.
Coordination of the event fell to Monaco's Permanent Secretariat of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee, which oversees the country's national strategy against financial crimes. The training represents part of ongoing international efforts to strengthen financial security measures across participating jurisdictions.
MONEYVAL, the Council of Europe's anti-money laundering body, conducts regular peer reviews to assess how effectively countries implement international standards in fighting financial crime.
