Monaco GP 2026: Road closures and access changes from 4 June
By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial
Significant road closures across the Principality take effect from 4 June as Monaco prepares to host the 83rd Formula 1 Grand Prix.
From 4 to 7 June, large sections of Monaco's road network will be closed from early morning until the end of each day's racing programme. Affected routes include Quai des États-Unis, Route de la Piscine, Boulevard Albert Ier, Quai Albert Ier, Quai Antoine Ier, Avenue de la Quarantaine, Avenue d'Ostende and Rue Grimaldi between Place Sainte-Dévote and Rue Princesse Florestine. Both the Rocher Albert Ier and Rocher Noghès tunnels will also be closed to general traffic during those hours, along with the Jules Soccal pontoon, the Darse Sud and the lower section of Avenue de la Costa.
Residents and property owners in and around these districts should plan alternative routes well in advance. The closures cover the full circuit perimeter and several approach roads, meaning cross-Principality journeys will require detours through areas unaffected by the event. The Government of Monaco is expected to publish full pedestrian access maps and public transport amendments closer to race week.
