Monaco E-Prix 2026: road closures and travel disruption explained
By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial
From 5am on race days, large sections of the Principality will close to vehicles and pedestrians for the 2026 Monaco E-Prix.
From 5am on each race day, drivers and pedestrians will lose access to a significant arc of Monaco's street circuit and surrounding roads. Affected routes include the Quai des États-Unis, Route de la Piscine, Appontement Jules Soccal, Darse Sud, Boulevard Albert Ier, Avenue d'Ostende, Place du Casino, Avenue de la Madone (between Avenue des Spélugues and Avenue de Grande-Bretagne), Avenue des Spélugues, Avenue des Citronniers as far as the Métropole car park entrance, and Avenue Princesse Grace.
For residents and property owners in the Carré d'Or, Larvotto and the port-side districts, the closures effectively split the lower Principality in half on event days. Anyone needing to reach work, medical appointments or transport connections should plan well in advance and identify alternative routes through the upper districts before restrictions come into force.
