Monaco delegation strengthens partnership ties during official visit to Belgian coastal city

Mayor Georges Marsan led a Monaco delegation to Ostend, Belgium, reinforcing the sister city relationship between the two coastal communities.

A high-level delegation from Monaco has completed an official visit to the Belgian coastal city of Ostend, further cementing the sister city partnership between the two communities.

Mayor Georges Marsan headed the Monaco contingent, accompanied by Deputy Mayors Marjorie Crovetto and Axelle Amalberti Verdino, along with Karyn Ardisson-Salopek and Jade Sapolin, Director of the Rainier III Academy. The group also included Andrea Pucknik-Danty from the Mayor's office mission team.

The visit forms part of the ongoing twinning arrangement that connects Monaco with the Belgian North Sea port city, fostering cultural and administrative exchanges between the two coastal municipalities. Such partnerships typically involve sharing best practices in municipal governance, cultural programmes, and educational initiatives.

Both Monaco and Ostend share characteristics as significant coastal destinations, making their collaboration particularly valuable for addressing common challenges and opportunities in maritime urban development.
