The Salon du Livre de Monaco is back for its 15th edition this weekend, gathering 124 authors, many of them local, across a broad mix of literary genres. The event makes a deliberate point of range, pairing established names with emerging voices and mixing fiction, non-fiction and specialist writing under one roof.
This year's patron is Gilles Kepel, the French political scientist and leading expert on the Arab world, who has lent his name to an edition centred on the idea that reading remains one of the most effective ways to make sense of a complex world. His involvement gives the fair a sharper intellectual edge than in previous years.
