Monaco pledges multi-million euro funding to World Food Programme initiatives prioritising gender equality in the fight against malnutrition.
The Principality has announced a substantial three-year commitment to combat global hunger through targeted World Food Programme initiatives, with women's empowerment at the heart of the strategy.
Under the new funding arrangement, Monaco will provide €1.185 million in 2026 as part of a comprehensive €3.65 million package spanning three years. The investment specifically targets malnutrition programmes and school feeding schemes, recognising the critical role women play in achieving sustainable food security.
This latest commitment reinforces Monaco's established position as a key supporter of international humanitarian efforts. The funding will support WFP projects that address both immediate nutritional needs and longer-term development goals, with particular attention to empowering women as agents of change in their communities.
The gender-focused approach reflects growing recognition that supporting women in food systems leads to more effective and lasting solutions to hunger challenges worldwide.
