Monaco and Germany mark 75 years of diplomatic ties

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Monaco's Foreign Affairs Minister held bilateral talks in Berlin to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between the Principality and Germany.

Bilateral talks at the German Federal Foreign Office in Berlin brought together Monaco's Minister of External Relations and Cooperation and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The ministers highlighted shared values and a common focus on innovation, climate issues, ocean protection, and cooperation on economic, scientific and cultural projects. Wadephul congratulated Monaco on its presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and acknowledged the Principality's support for the accountability mechanism relating to Ukraine.

The anniversary underlines Monaco's active role in European diplomacy, particularly in areas aligned with Prince Albert II's long-standing environmental commitments and the Principality's broader multilateral engagements.
