Marseille Fos joins Monaco's yacht sustainability network

By MonacoViews Editorial, MonacoViews Editorial

France's major Mediterranean port has become the latest member of the Yacht Club of Monaco's environmental initiative tracking yacht carbon emissions.

The Port of Marseille Fos has become the newest addition to the SEA Index network, expanding the Yacht Club of Monaco's ambitious environmental programme beyond the principality's borders.

The SEA Index, which began operations in 2020, serves as a comprehensive system for measuring carbon emissions from pleasure craft and promoting greener practices among yacht owners. The initiative represents the yacht club's commitment to transforming the luxury marine sector's environmental footprint.

With Marseille Fos now part of the network, yacht owners using France's largest Mediterranean port will have access to the same sustainability tracking tools available in Monaco. The partnership signals growing momentum for environmental responsibility across the region's yachting infrastructure.

The expansion reflects broader industry recognition that luxury marine tourism must adapt to climate concerns while maintaining Monaco's position as a premier yachting destination.
