Magnum 60 recovered after grounding near Nice Airport

A Monegasque-flagged Magnum 60 motor yacht ran aground on rocks near Nice Côte d'Azur Airport on Sunday 6 September, requiring an overnight recovery operation.
A Magnum 60 motor yacht registered under the Monegasque flag was successfully recovered on Monday 7 September after running aground on rocks near the breakwater at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport the previous evening. The operation stretched through the night before crews were able to refloat the vessel.
The SNSM Cros-de-Cagnes lifeboat station co-ordinated the response and released images showing the powerful motor yacht hard against the rocks. The Magnum 60 is a well-regarded offshore performance hull, and the incident will raise questions among Monaco's yachting community about the circumstances that brought it so close inshore in that stretch of coast.
The yacht's Monegasque registration links the vessel directly to the Principality, though full details of ownership and the condition of the hull following recovery have not yet been confirmed. Monaco-based owners and skippers operating along the Riviera coastline will be watching for any further findings from the maritime authorities.
