Lycée Rainier III renews Mauritius hotel school tie

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

A long-standing exchange partnership between Lycée Rainier III and a leading Mauritian hospitality school has been formally renewed, giving Monaco students access to international training placements.

Lycée Rainier III has renewed its bilateral agreement with the Sir Gaëtan Duval Hotel School, part of the Mauritius Institute of Training and Development, continuing a partnership that has been in place since 2005. The accord provides the framework for student and teaching staff exchanges, combining theoretical coursework with practical, on-site training in both countries.

For students following hospitality and catering programmes at the Monaco institution, the agreement opens a route to genuine international professional experience, with time spent working and studying within the Mauritian hotel industry. The cultural dimension of the exchange is considered an integral part of the training, preparing graduates for careers in an industry that operates across borders.

The renewal signals a continued commitment from both institutions to structured, long-term educational cooperation rather than one-off visits. For Lycée Rainier III, whose hospitality programmes feed directly into the Principality's hotel and restaurant sector, maintaining active international partnerships of this kind keeps its curriculum connected to industry practice well beyond Monaco's own market.
