The Larvotto handiplage has reopened for summer, offering accessible bathing from late June through August with trained staff and specialist equipment.
The handiplage at Larvotto beach opened on 29 June for its 2026 summer season, giving residents and visitors with reduced mobility access to the sea through 30 August. The facility is staffed by six trained supervisors and equipped with specialist beach wheelchairs and other adapted equipment to ensure optimal safety, comfort and welcome.
Established over twenty years ago by the Club Soroptimist, the handiplage is now organised by the Direction of Social Action and Assistance. Last summer the site welcomed more than 80 people with reduced mobility, demonstrating genuine demand for accessible bathing in the Principality.
For families and carers planning a visit, the Larvotto location sits within easy reach of public transport along the eastern seafront, making it accessible for both accompanied and independent visitors.
