Larvotto aquathlon marks World Alzheimer's Day for AMPA

Swimmers and runners gathered at Larvotto beach on 20 September for a solidarity aquathlon organised by Monaco's Alzheimer's research association, AMPA.
Larvotto beach hosted a solidarity aquathlon on Sunday, 20 September 2026, as Monaco marked World Alzheimer's Day with one of its most active public events of the year. Participants combined open-water swimming with a running leg in support of the Association Monégasque pour la Recherche sur la Maladie d'Alzheimer, known locally as AMPA.
The event forms part of a broader calendar of activities the Principality organises around the international awareness day, which falls on 21 September each year. For residents and visitors at Larvotto that morning, the aquathlon offered a tangible way to engage with AMPA's fundraising and research mission beyond simple donation.
