La Vuelta 2026: Road Closures Across Monaco on 22–23 August
By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial
Two stages of La Vuelta 2026 will bring significant road closures to Monaco on 22 and 23 August, affecting drivers across the Principality.
La Vuelta 2026 arrives in Monaco this weekend, with an individual time trial on Saturday 22 August followed by an official stage start on Sunday 23 August, when riders set off for Manosque. Preparatory works are already under way, and both days will see a series of rolling and fixed road closures across the Principality.
Drivers are advised to consult the interactive map on the official La Vuelta 2026 Monaco website for a full breakdown of which routes are affected and at what times. The same information is available through Waze. Closures are described as punctual rather than wholesale, but residents and visitors should expect disruption to normal traffic flow and plan journeys accordingly.
The event marks a notable moment for Monaco as host of a Grand Départ-style opening to one of cycling's three Grand Tours. For those not driving, the closures also create an opportunity to watch the time trial unfold on streets that are rarely given over to sport outside of the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend.
