Monaco Foundation in Paris hosts first public gathering since 2021
The Monaco Foundation at Paris's international university campus welcomed visitors for its inaugural public event in over three years.
The Monaco Foundation at the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris opened its doors to the public for the first time since September 2021, marking a significant milestone for the institution's community engagement.
The event centred around a new publication documenting a remarkable journey along the Via Alpina, Europe's longest long-distance hiking trail. This ambitious 2,000-kilometre route spans eight countries, beginning in Italy and Slovenia before winding through Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and France, ultimately reaching its endpoint in the Principality.
The Via Alpina represents a unique example of international cooperation, officially launched on 21 June 2002 through collaborative efforts between the participating nations. Monaco's involvement in this transnational project reflects the Principality's commitment to promoting sustainable tourism and cultural exchange across Alpine regions.
The trail offers hikers an extraordinary opportunity to experience the diverse landscapes, sporting challenges, and rich cultural heritage of all eight countries along its path, showcasing the natural beauty and historical significance of the Alpine region.
