Jardin Exotique joins forces with Rome botanical garden

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

A formal partnership between the Jardin Exotique de Monaco, Rome's Museo Orto Botanico, and Offroad Club Monaco was signed on 30th April.

Mayor Georges Marsan presided over the signing of a trilateral partnership agreement on Thursday 30th April, bringing together the Jardin Exotique de Monaco, Rome's Museo Orto Botanico di Roma, and Offroad Club Monaco. Several members of the Conseil Communal attended alongside representatives of both institutions.

Perched above the Principality and long considered one of its landmark sites, the Jardin Exotique has built a reputation over decades that extends well beyond its spectacular clifftop setting. It functions as a serious centre for botanical research and conservation, and this new agreement formalises ties with one of Italy's most established scientific garden institutions.

For Monaco residents, the partnership signals a broader ambition for the Jardin Exotique as a centre of international scientific collaboration, not simply a visitor attraction. The involvement of Offroad Club Monaco adds a local dimension to the arrangement, though the precise scope of each party's contribution is expected to be developed through the partnership framework.
