The evening presents a rare opportunity to see her work in Monaco, where screenings of experimental cinema at this level are infrequent.
Fanderl's practice is defined by a deliberate refusal to process or retouch her footage after shooting. The raw images are presented exactly as captured, a method she treats as essential to preserving an objective record of the real world. The result is a body of work that sits somewhere between documentary and visual poetry, shaped entirely by the physical constraints and grain of the Super 8 medium.
The Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco, based on the Rocher, regularly programmes specialist film events alongside its archival and educational mission.
