Grimaldi Sites Festival returns to Palace Square for seventh edition

The Prince and Princess opened this year's Rencontre des Sites Grimaldi on Saturday, welcoming seven historically linked communes including a large delegation from Piedmont.
Place du Palais is the setting this weekend for the seventh Rencontre des Sites Grimaldi de Monaco, a two-day celebration bringing together towns and territories with deep historical ties to the Grimaldi dynasty. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène attended the opening on Saturday morning alongside their children, marking the start of what organisers have billed as the largest edition to date.
Seven communes are represented this year, with a notably sizeable delegation travelling from Piedmont in northern Italy, reflecting the family's centuries-old connections across the western Mediterranean and the Italian peninsula. The event combines a food market with heritage programming, giving residents and visitors direct access to the cultures and traditions of places that share a common dynastic thread with the Principality.
For those living in Monaco, Place du Palais remains accessible throughout the weekend. The market and festivities are expected to continue through Sunday, with the square hosting both the culinary stands and the cultural programme across both days.
