Government unveils vision for greener, better-connected Monaco

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

The Princely Government has released a video and visuals setting out its long-term plan to reshape Monaco with more green space, improved public areas and stronger pedestrian links.

On 14 July 2026, the Princely Government published a new video and a series of renderings outlining how it intends to transform the Principality over the coming years. The vision centres on four priorities: expanding green space across the built environment, raising the quality of public areas, creating continuous pedestrian routes between districts, and introducing cooling zones to address urban heat.

For residents and property owners, the plans signal meaningful changes to how Monaco's neighbourhoods connect and feel at street level. The emphasis on pedestrian continuity suggests a rethinking of routes that currently fragment movement between areas such as the Condamine, Fontvieille and Monte-Carlo, where busy road infrastructure can make walking between districts uncomfortable.

The government described its ambition as reinforcing the place of nature within the city and improving everyday comfort for those who live and work here. No construction timeline or budget figures were attached to this initial release, but the publication of detailed visuals indicates the project has moved well beyond a conceptual stage.
