Christophe Lemoine has officially begun his diplomatic mission in Monaco, presenting his credentials to Prince Albert II at the Prince's Palace in a formal ceremony marking the start of his ambassadorial mandate. Following the credential presentation, Lemoine was received at the residence of Minister of State Christophe Mirmand, underscoring the importance of the ambassadorial role within Monaco's institutional framework.
The appointment reinforces the close institutional relationship between France and Monaco, two neighbouring states bound by a comprehensive bilateral treaty framework. This framework covers essential matters including customs arrangements, judicial cooperation and cross-border affairs, making the ambassadorial posting one of the most significant diplomatic roles for the Principality.
Lemoine's arrival follows the conclusion of his predecessor's tenure and comes at a time when cross-border infrastructure and economic ties between Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes region remain priorities for both governments. The new ambassador's mission will help further strengthen these institutional and economic bonds.
