Prince Albert II received new ambassadors from Greece, New Zealand, Jamaica and Gabon as they presented their Letters of Credence in Monaco.
Four newly accredited ambassadors have formally taken up their posts in the Principality, each presenting Letters of Credence to Prince Albert II in the traditional ceremony that marks the start of diplomatic relations. The envoys represent Greece, New Zealand, Jamaica and Gabon, broadening Monaco's network of accredited representatives across Europe, Oceania, the Caribbean and Africa.
The ceremony, held at the Prince's Palace, follows established protocol for the accreditation of foreign diplomats to the Principality. Such appointments, while largely symbolic in the day to day life of residents, underline Monaco's continued role as a recognised sovereign state maintaining bilateral ties well beyond its size.
For those following Monaco's diplomatic calendar, the addition of these four nations reflects the ongoing work of the Department of Foreign Affairs in expanding and maintaining the Principality's international representation.
