Formula E Returns to Monaco for Double-Header E-Prix

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

Twenty electric single-seaters line up on the grid this weekend as Formula E's Season 12 reaches its Monaco double-header on the street circuit.

Halfway through Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the Principality hosts one of the calendar's most anticipated stops this weekend with two back-to-back sprint races on the Monaco street circuit. Twenty drivers will compete across both rounds, each pushing to add their name to the E-Prix winners' list on one of the most technically demanding urban tracks in motorsport.

The Monaco E-Prix layout winds through the same narrow streets that have defined Grand Prix racing for decades, yet the all-electric machinery brings its own character to the circuit, with regenerative braking strategies and attack-mode activations replacing the combustion-era tactics. For residents near the harbour and Sainte-Dévote, road closures and access restrictions will be in place across the weekend.

With the championship still wide open at the midpoint of the season, both races carry significant points weight. Drivers and teams arriving in the Principality this week will be targeting maximum points from Monaco before the second half of the calendar begins.
