Fontvieille Shopping Centre renovation to begin next month

By Michael Moretti, MonacoViews Editorial

Monaco's Administration des Domaines has presented plans for a large-scale modernisation of the Centre Commercial de Fontvieille, with works due to start in June 2026.

The Centre Commercial de Fontvieille is heading into a significant renovation phase this summer, following a formal presentation by the Administration des Domaines to representatives of the complex earlier this week. The works, set to begin next month, are intended to modernise one of the Principality's busiest retail and commercial destinations while broader long-term redevelopment discussions remain ongoing.

The Fontvieille shopping centre sits at the heart of the Principality's industrial and artisanal quarter, serving a mix of residents, workers and visitors who rely on its concentration of shops, services and restaurants. For those who live or work in the area, the renovation timetable will be worth watching closely, as summer works of this scale typically affect access and parking in a district that already operates at full capacity during the warmer months.

No completion date has been confirmed publicly at this stage. Further details on the scope of works and any phased closure arrangements are expected to follow as the project moves towards its June start.
