Fontvieille Shopping Centre gets €4.36m facelift from June

By Alexandre Morel, MonacoViews Editorial

The Fontvieille Commercial Centre is set for a major refurbishment next month, with the Monaco Government committing €4.36 million to redesign the entire shopping gallery.

The Centre Commercial de Fontvieille is about to undergo its most significant refresh in years, with works scheduled to begin next month under a €4.36 million government-funded scheme. The project has been designed by Monaco-based architecture practice TAG (The A GROUP), led by Jérôme Hein, and covers the full extent of the shopping gallery rather than isolated areas.

The investment is framed as an interim improvement while a broader structural restructuring of the CCF is planned for the longer term. For the businesses operating there and the Fontvieille residents and workers who use the centre daily, the works represent a tangible upgrade to an environment that has long been due attention.

Fontvieille's commercial centre anchors the Principality's industrial and artisan quarter and serves a working population distinct from the retail offer found closer to the Port or Monte-Carlo. A modernised gallery is expected to improve footfall and day-to-day comfort for both tenants and visitors to the district.
