Fontvieille McDonald's evacuated after tear gas incident

Fontvieille McDonald's was evacuated on Sunday evening after tear gas was released, affecting multiple customers and staff who were treated by emergency responders.
The McDonald's restaurant in Fontvieille was evacuated on the evening of Sunday 13 September after tear gas was dispersed inside the premises. Customers reported a suspicious odour and began experiencing coughing and stinging sensations, prompting staff to evacuate the building immediately.
Monaco's fire brigade responded with approximately 15 firefighters, alongside officers from the Direction de la Sûreté Publique. Six people affected by the gas were treated at the scene, though none required transfer to the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace, indicating no serious injuries resulted from the incident.
An investigation has been opened to establish the circumstances surrounding the release and whether the act was deliberate.
