AS Monaco's head coach reflected on a 2-2 pre-season draw with Cercle Bruges and flagged ongoing concerns about fluidity in attack.
AS Monaco drew 2-2 with Cercle Bruges in a pre-season friendly on Friday 31 July, leaving head coach Filipe Luis with clear work to do before the competitive season begins. Speaking after the final whistle, the Portuguese manager said his side still lacks the attacking combinations he is looking for, with the front line yet to develop the understanding needed to unlock defences consistently.
Three pre-season outings in, Filipe Luis acknowledged the progress is gradual but insisted the connections between his forwards must sharpen quickly. He also took the opportunity to address the arrival of striker Matthis Abline, the club's latest summer signing, whose integration into the squad will be closely watched as Monaco fine-tune their attack ahead of the new campaign.
