Digital Platform Launches for New Employment Contract Termination System
Monaco introduces online service for mutual employment contract termination agreements, available through government digital portals since March 2026.
A new digital service has gone live on Monaco's Monguichet.mc portals, enabling both individuals and businesses to process mutual employment contract terminations online. The platform became operational on 23rd March 2026, marking a significant step in the Principauté's digital transformation of administrative services.
The online tool represents a collaborative effort between Monaco's Digital Services Department and the Labour Department, streamlining what was previously a more complex administrative process. Until recently, employment contracts in Monaco could only end through resignation by the employee or dismissal by the employer.
From 12th March 2026, a third option became available: mutual termination agreements, which allow employers and employees to end working relationships by mutual consent. This new framework brings Monaco in line with modern employment practices, offering greater flexibility for both parties while maintaining proper legal protections.
The digital platform eliminates much of the paperwork traditionally associated with employment contract changes, allowing users to complete the entire process through secure government portals accessible to both residents and businesses operating in the Principauté.
