Crovetto launches mayoral bid, wants residents to reclaim city

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Marjorie Crovetto has opened her campaign for Monaco's spring 2027 mayoral election with a list mixing sitting councillors and new faces.

Marjorie Crovetto, a municipal councillor for nearly two decades, has formally opened her campaign for the mayorship of Monaco. She first announced her candidacy in June 2026, and with the spring 2027 election now approaching, she has gone public with the shape of her list for the first time.

Her team will combine current elected councillors with new names entering municipal politics, a blend she presents as continuity paired with fresh input. Crovetto has framed her core message around giving Monégasques a stronger hold on their own city, arguing that residents need to feel they belong in the spaces and decisions that shape daily life in the Principality.

The campaign comes at a moment when questions over housing access, local identity and the pace of development remain live concerns for Monaco's national community. As one of the Council's longest-serving members, Crovetto's bid will be watched closely for how she positions herself against other declared candidates in the run-up to next spring's vote.
