Council of Europe Secretary-General visits Monaco for high-level talks
Alain Berset held discussions with Prince Albert II and senior officials, highlighting Monaco's commitment to human rights and democratic values.
The Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, made an official visit to the Principality this week for a series of important diplomatic meetings.
Prince Albert II received Berset in audience at the Palace, while the Swiss diplomat also held discussions with Thomas Brezzo, President of the National Council, and Samuel Vuelta Simon, Secretary of State for Justice.
The meetings provided an opportunity to emphasise Monaco's ongoing dedication to advancing human rights, strengthening the rule of law, and reinforcing democratic principles, all core pillars of the Council of Europe's mission. These values remain central to the Principality's international engagement and domestic governance approach.
