Civil service pay and pensions rise in Monaco

The Monegasque government has announced a further uplift to public sector salaries and pensions, building on a one per cent increase awarded last July.
A new pay increase for Monaco's civil servants, public sector employees, and retirees has been confirmed by the government, marking the latest step in an ongoing effort to protect purchasing power across the public workforce. The move follows a one per cent uplift that came into force last July, and is framed as both a continuation of that policy and a proactive measure rather than a reactive one.
The decision covers all active fonctionnaires and agents de l'État as well as those who have already retired from public service, meaning the benefit reaches across current and former government employees alike. For many households in the Principality where a family member works within the administration, the adjustment will have a direct impact on monthly budgets.
The government has positioned this as a long-term commitment to maintaining the real value of public sector remuneration, at a time when cost-of-living pressures remain a concern across the wider region.
