Brothers sentenced to 30 months imprisonment for Monaco scooter theft spree
Two Tunisian brothers from Menton received firm prison sentences for stealing five scooters across Monaco between January and April.
A Monaco criminal court has handed down 30-month prison sentences to two Tunisian brothers living in Menton following their conviction for a systematic scooter theft operation in the principality.
The pair carried out their criminal activities over nearly three months, targeting vehicles both on public streets and in the principality's car parks. Their theft spree ran from 24th January through to 12th April, during which they successfully stole five scooters from various locations across Monaco.
The sentences reflect Monaco's firm stance on property crime, with the court opting for custodial punishment rather than suspended sentences. The case highlights ongoing security challenges in the principality, where high-value vehicles and convenient transport options like scooters can attract criminal attention from neighbouring regions.
