The Princely Government has handed over the keys of Monaco's new public hospital building to medical staff, marking the transition from construction to clinical operations.
After years of planning and construction, the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace reached a formal milestone on Monday when the keys to its new building were handed to hospital teams. The ceremony marks the end of the construction phase and the beginning of the fit-out and operational preparation period, during which staff will take ownership of the spaces where they will shortly be treating patients.
The new building is the centrepiece of a long-term project initiated by the Princely Government to give Monaco a modern, adaptable public hospital capable of meeting the needs of future generations. The facility is designed to evolve alongside advances in medical practice, a priority given the Principality's ageing resident population and the high standards of care expected by both residents and the international community living here.
For the thousands of residents, workers and visitors who rely on the CHPG each year, the handover signals that the long-anticipated move into the new building is now firmly in its final stages. A full operational launch is expected in the coming months once teams have completed their preparation and equipment installation.
