Thierry Mesana has stepped into the role of délégué president at the Centre Cardio-Thoracique de Monaco, the Principality's specialist heart and chest surgery centre, bringing with him a clear set of priorities for the years ahead.
His roadmap centres on three distinct ambitions: strengthening the CCM's international reach, creating a dedicated care pathway for women with cardiac conditions, and integrating artificial intelligence into clinical practice. The women's programme signals a notable shift, acknowledging that cardiovascular disease in female patients is frequently under-diagnosed and managed differently from the standard protocols that dominate the field.
The CCM, which sits alongside Princess Grace Hospital on the Avenue Pasteur, is one of the few facilities in the region offering open-heart surgery and complex thoracic procedures. Mesana's international focus suggests the centre intends to compete more directly for patients and research partnerships beyond the French Riviera, building on the reputation it has established over several decades.
