Caroline Bergonzi's steel mandalas on display until 31 October

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Monégasque artist Caroline Bergonzi presents a series of steel mandala sculptures at the A.I.A.P. exhibition hall until 31 October.

Monégasque sculptor Caroline Bergonzi has filled the A.I.A.P. exhibition hall with a series of works built around geometric mandala forms, rendered in steel and suspended to give the pieces an airy, almost weightless quality despite their material. The show plays on the contrast between the solidity of the metal and the lightness of the circular patterns, a theme Bergonzi has developed across several years of practice in the Principality.

Visitors have only a few days left to catch the exhibition, which closes on 31 October. The A.I.A.P. hall has become one of the smaller but reliable venues on Monaco's cultural calendar for showcasing work by artists with ties to the Principality, and Bergonzi's installation adds to a growing body of locally produced sculpture finding space in the city's exhibition programme this autumn.
