Twenty-one-year-old Matthew Brennan claimed a dominant sprint victory on stage two of the 2026 Vuelta a España, which passed through Monaco and the Côte d'Azur.

Matthew Brennan, 21, delivered a commanding performance in the final sprint to take the stage win on his Grand Tour debut. The young rider was unambiguous about what the result meant: "I was able to show what kind of sprinter I am," he said after crossing the line.
Tadej Pogacar retained the red leader's jersey after the Côte d'Azur leg concluded, keeping his grip on the general classification as the race moved further into Spain.
