Bomb attack in Monaco leaves businessman seriously injured

A targeted bomb attack in Monaco on Wednesday left wealthy Ukrainian-born businessman Vadim Ermolaev and two members of his family with serious injuries, in one of the most dramatic public safety incidents the Principality has seen in recent years. The device is believed to have been detonated remotely after the prime suspect waited in position for more than an hour before triggering the explosion.
Monaco's police and judicial authorities have launched a major investigation. The suspect had fled the scene and remained at large as of Thursday morning, prompting a significant security response across the Principality.
Ermolaev is a prominent figure in Monaco's business community, and the circumstances of the attack point strongly to a deliberate, premeditated act. Investigators are working to establish the motive and to identify any accomplices who may have assisted in the planning or execution of the operation.
