BeMed funds 12 Mediterranean plastic pollution projects

Monaco-based Beyond Plastic Med is backing twelve international initiatives aimed at tackling plastic pollution across the Mediterranean Sea.
Beyond Plastic Med, the Monaco-founded association known as BeMed, has confirmed funding for twelve new projects targeting plastic pollution in the Mediterranean. The grants form part of the organisation's ongoing small grants programme, which has supported environmental initiatives across the basin since BeMed's creation under the patronage of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
The twelve selected projects span multiple countries bordering the Mediterranean, focusing on reducing plastic entering the sea at source, improving local waste management and raising community awareness along coastlines. BeMed coordinates its work from Monaco and operates as one of the Principality's most active environmental bodies at a regional level.
