Balogun, Cabral and Golovin in frame for AS Monaco exits

AS Monaco are pushing to offload three first-team players before overseas transfer windows close, with a Ligue 1 home fixture against PSG the same evening.
With the French transfer window already shut since Tuesday, AS Monaco are working the remaining international markets to trim a wage bill that has come under scrutiny this summer. Folarin Balogun, Pape Cabral and Aleksandr Golovin are all the subject of departure talks, as the club looks to move on players before deadlines in Turkey (Friday night), Saudi Arabia (Sunday) and Russia (10 September).
The activity in the final days of the window comes with the club simultaneously preparing for a high-profile Ligue 1 opener against Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Louis II on Friday evening, kick-off 21h05. Managing outgoing transfers while fielding a competitive side against the reigning champions reflects the balancing act facing the coaching staff and sporting director as the new season gets under way.
Golovin, who has been at the club since 2018, and Balogun, who arrived on loan from Arsenal before signing permanently, represent significant salary commitments. Cabral, signed from Sporting CP, has also struggled to establish himself as an undisputed starter. Should all three deals complete before the respective windows close, Monaco would gain meaningful financial headroom ahead of the remainder of the 2026-27 campaign.
