A 37-year-old Monégasque man has admitted responsibility on the first day of his attempted murder trial, telling the court he must face the consequences.
Jean-Charles Mulini appeared before the Tribunal Criminel de Monaco on Tuesday 19 May, charged with the attempted murder of his former partner in April 2022. On the opening day of proceedings, Mulini addressed the court directly, stating that he is a criminal and that he must pay for what he has done.
Several people close to the accused gave character testimony, painting a broadly favourable picture of the 37-year-old Monégasque, though none were able to offer a satisfactory explanation for the attack. The trial is expected to continue over the coming days.
