A coach within AS Monaco's water polo section is facing legal proceedings in Monaco following a complaint lodged in January 2026. The complainants allege physical violence and harassment, and have withdrawn their child from training as a result. A second complaint, filed against persons unknown, has since been submitted to the Monégasque justice system.
The case raises sharp questions about safeguarding standards within the club's aquatic programmes. AS Monaco water polo operates out of the Stade Nautique Rainier III on Quai Albert II, where junior and senior squads train throughout the season. The dual complaints suggest the concerns extend beyond a single incident or family.
Monaco's justice system operates independently of French courts, and the proceedings remain at an early stage. No charges have been formally announced. The club has not yet made a public statement on the matter.
